Subject: DAOS: Does DAOS compress (--> zip) the files stored in the file repository?
Feedback Type: Question
Product Area: DAOS
Technical Area: Functionality
Platform: Windows 2003 server
Release: Beta 2
Reproducible: -Reproducibility-

We are curious wether the files stored in the DAOS file repository are just plain copies of the files / attachments extracted from the NSF-files or wether the Domino server / DAOS task does compress the data in any way.

If the files are compressed, what is the average compression-rate that can be expected if you assume that the very most attachments are MS-Office documents?

And which compression technology is used?
